In a world inundated with mass produced art, it is a
great pleasure to encounter a truly unique, original
fine art sculpture. Rudolph Cauchi has carved a wide
variety of limestone sculptures, decorations and
artwork into pieces of art for public, private &
corporate collections.
Rudolph Cauchi was born on the 29th of March 1977
and lives in Ghajnsielem, Gozo (an island of the
Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea). Rudolph took
his primary education at the Anton Cassar Primary
School in Ghajnsielem, then moving to Ninu Cremona
Junior Lyceum and later at the Sir Michelangelo
Refalo centre for further studies. At a young age,
he had already started to show a great interest in
art. At the age of 14 he attended a four year
course at the Wistin Camilleri Art school to
practice clay modeling and immediately proved that
he would be successful in this artisan. Later, he
pursued other courses in oil water painting, art and
design.

In 1996 Rudolph founded “L-Ghaqda ta’ L-Armar”,
a voluntary group in charge of the external feast
decorations. The streets of Ghajnsielem were turned
into a main attraction of banners, statues, flags,
lights and ornamental feast decorations. One of his
greatest work is the triumphal arc in the main
square.
In 2003 Rudolph was awarded the ninth edition of
‘Gieh Ghajnsielem’ during a ceremony organized by
the local council. He was given this award for his
sheer enthusiasm and whole-hearted dedication. He
obtain a record by being the youngest one who had
received this honor.
In 2005-2006, he attended a full course in gilding
under the guidance of Gaetano Said. During this
course he also studied the artwork of the
traditional Maltese clock and restoration in church
masterpieces. Subsequently he undertook a four
years course in stone sculpture, at the Malta School
of Art at Valletta. During the first year of the
course he was awarded first prize after obtaining
the highest mark in the wood and stone sculpture. He
also attended another course at the Art and Design
School, Mosta in stone carving under the guidance of
Angelo Agius.
He currently works as
a Stone Sculpturer, Interior Decorator, and gilder
and as a teacher at the Wistin Camilleri School of
Arts. As
well as a current collection of sculpture and decors
available for purchase at his showroom, Rudolph is
able to create commissioned sculptures and related
works for your specific requirements.
Rudolph Cauchi strives to create sculpture which
will seduce the viewer's eye, stir the soul, and
entice the viewer to touch...
